6th April 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

Arsene Wenger saw his Arsenal side cruise to a 2 goal lead, both goals coming from Rosicky which surely meant an easy 3 points. However the match turned when in the 70 minute Per Mertesacker brought down Shane Long and was sent off for a professional foul which James Morrison dispatched from the penalty spot. Then Arsenal had their backs to the wall as for the final 20 minutes the Gunners defended for their lives. West Brom had a couple of good opportunity to score but couldn't get the crucial goal and the Arsenal hung onto the one goal lead. After the game Arsene Wenger was fully of praise of the team's spirit.

"It was a fabulous win and it needed a special performance," "The last 20 minutes was obviously very nervy because we had 10 men "They had a lot of strong bodies who were very determined to score. But we kept our nerve and we were committed.

"We have good spirit, the team is growing and we have a resolute attitude. And, of course, the run we are on makes the team stronger."

Arsenal now move into the top four of the Premier League for the first time since Boxing Day, with Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton playing on Sunday.
