Internationals : Spain V France : Santi Cazorla has warned his team-mates of the striking prowess of France’s Karim Benzema

25th March 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

Tomorrow on Tuesday night Spain face a crunch match against France after Cazorla and his Spain squad could only manage a 1-1 draw to Finland last Friday which allowed France, who beat Georgia, to leapfrog them to the top of Group I and establish a two-point lead. Now the pressure is all on Spain  to win the game if they want to go back to the top of the group. Santi Cazorla has been speaking ahead of that game and praised Real Madrid's Benzema.

"Karim is a spectacular player who has incredible qualities", the former Malaga man told reporters."

"He hasn't shown that for a long time [for France], it’s very strange, and hopefully he won’t have a good day against us.He is a very important player in the France team."

Benzema has scored 15 goals in his 56 appearances at international level with France. He has bagged eight goals for Real Madrid in La Liga so far this season.

Cazorla also stated that the Spanish team is not in decline.

"It makes no sense at all to doubt this team after one draw," he said. "You cannot talk about the end of an era, this team is still hungry, we still want to win trophies and you cannot talk of the end of an era."

"The problem is we now have less of a margin for error, but we always go out to win everygame anyway. We know that we'll have to play really well, against a team that is on a very good run of form."
